EMDR Therapy
EMDR therapy is a transformative tool to help process traumatic memories and facilitate positive changes in emotional responses. Minota guides clients through this healing process, supporting them in overcoming past traumas. Is Intensive EMDR for Me? Intensive EMDR is EMDR counselling that runs for longer than the typical 50 minutes. It can take place over one or two days. For example, booking a 5 hour EMDR intensive would include an assessment, resourcing (development of skills to handle activating emotions), and 3 hours of EMDR processing. EMDR Intensives may be a good fit for you if you want: A Deeper Dive: If you have ever started a session and thought “we are just getting started! I feel like I’m on the verge of a breakthrough!” and you did not want to wait until the next week, Intensive EMDR sessions may be for you! Shift Work: Perhaps you work two weeks on and one week off…Perhaps it is three weeks out. Maybe you work a rotations of days and nights and your days off are not always regular. You could turbo charge your healing journey around your shifts! Cost: Okay, I know that looks like a lot of money upfront but there is a lot to be said for focusing on the matter you want to address and not dealing with some of the disturbances to the counselling process. You know …issues such as crisis, holidays and – let’s face it – day to day life! When we can be much more focused on the target concern, the time you spend in therapy can be decreased. That means more money in your pocket over the long-run! Reduce Drive Time: We live in a rural area! Do you live an hour or more out of town? Make that trip count! Sometimes those road are hard in winter and one fewer trips might be less stress, less gas, and less hassle. Getting the most out of your trip with intensive EMDR just makes sense. Am I a Good Fit for an EMDR Intensive? To determine fit for intensive EMDR sessions, I first invite you to schedule a free 15 minute phone consultation. If it feels like a good fit for you, we could then start talking about scheduling you in for an intensive session at a time and date that works best for you and Minota. This might be over one day or maybe over two days.
Expressive Arts Therapy
Expressive Arts Therapy focuses on the creative process to explore and address trauma, promoting emotional healing and self-discovery. Our sessions help individuals restore balance and resilience by tapping into their innate creativity. Life is messy…healing can be too! Who says therapy has to be super serious all the time in order to heal and grow? (Definitely not me!) Expressive art therapy can be a wonderful way of being able to express things that we don’t seem to have the works for. It allows you to tap into a very emotional experience and have catharsis, make connections, and have corrective emotional experience. I use expressive arts in conjunction with other types of therapies such as acceptance and commitment therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy and EMDR.
